Summary

Duties

  • The incumbent provides Human Resources services to employees of the U.S. Mission Nigeria.
  • Incumbent conducts e-Performance, Duty Officer and other relevant training to Americans.
  • Incumbent handles various Human Resources programs and administrative duties, including maintenance of subject files, assist with security clearance process for EFMs and preparation of reports on various Human Resources issues.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Education Requirements:

  • A Four (4) year College or University Degree is required. (N.B: Please address this factor in your ERA application under Education). 

Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience in an office environment, handling Human Resources or Administrative duties is required. (N.B: Please address this factor in your ERA application under Major Duties and Responsibilities).

Job Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Office Administration procedures, Human Resources programs, procedures and regulation; and ability to resolve moderately complex HR issues is required.

Evaluations:

  • This may be tested. (N.B: Please specify your level of proficiency in the language listed).

Language:

  • Fluent speaking/reading/writing English is required. (N.B: Please address this factor in your ERA application under Language). 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be tactful in dealing with HR customers; and must have strong interpersonal and good writing skills.
  • Must have the ability to carry out work on own initiative, referring only unusual situations to the supervisor, as well as able to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft word and Excel packages with the ability to type 40 WPM.

Agency Benefits:

  • Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Abuja, Nigeria may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
  • For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
  • The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
