We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilites
- Design and specify instrumentation and control systems in compliance with IEC, API, and industry standards
- Develop and review P&IDs, logic diagrams, and instrument loop diagrams
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems
- Select, integrate, and calibrate sensors, transmitters, and control devices (pressure, temperature, flow, level)
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and system acceptance testing
- Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and reliability improvement initiatives
- Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation and control faults to minimize downtime
- Manage system upgrades, modifications, and performance optimization projects
- Implement advanced process control strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Integrate and validate Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) in compliance with SIL requirements
- Participate in HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and safety compliance reviews
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project alignment
- Monitor project progress, resolve technical issues, and maintain schedule adherence
- Prepare engineering documentation, reports, technical manuals, and compliance records
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory approval processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or related field
- Certification in Instrumentation & Control (e.g., ISA, TÜV) is an advantage
- Minimum of 10 years’ instrumentation and control engineering experience in oil & gas (upstream preferred)
- Proven expertise with DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization
- Strong knowledge of process instrumentation, sensors, actuators, and industrial communication protocols (HART, MODBUS, Fieldbus)
- Excellent troubleshooting, calibration, and safety systems implementation skills
- Proficient in project planning, execution, and technical documentation
- Analytical, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, adaptable, and collaborative.
