Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and seasoned Assurance Audit Supervisor to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing audit engagements across various industries and sectors, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational requirements.
- This role requires strong analytical and problem- solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Planning and Execution:
- Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational requirements.
- Develop audit plans and risk assessments based on client needs, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
- Ensure that audits are conducted in accordance with established standards, methodologies, and best practices.
Team Supervision:
- Supewise and mentor audit staff, providing training, support, and guidance to enhance their skills and performance.
- Review work papers and ensure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with organizational standards.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business, industry, and specific needs.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations effectively to clients and stakeholders, ensuring timely and professional resolution of issues.
- Address client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Quality Control:
- Ensure compliance with internal quality control standards, external regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Participate in the development and implementation of audit methodologies, best practices, and quality control procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for clients and management.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in auditing and assurance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the audit function.
- Contribute to the development of training materials and programs for staff development.
Qualifications
Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a reputable university.
- Professional Certification: Must be a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in audit and assurance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and team members.
- Proficient in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
