Job Title: Material Maintenance Officer

Description

  • The Material Maintenance Officer is responsible for overseeing the issuance, tracking, and reconciliation of spare parts and materials used in maintenance operations.
  • This role ensures accurate SAP records, efficient stock control, and supports workshop operations by coordinating material availability and usage across business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze truck maintenance history to verify previously issued spare parts.
  • Calculate kilometers covered by trucks between spare issuances to assess material needs.
  • Create and manage maintenance orders in SAP to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Ensure maintenance notifications are raised with accurate notification types.
  • Close maintenance orders monthly to facilitate timely account settlements.
  • Raise reservations for spare parts across all maintenance workshops.
  • Ensure spares are issued in SAP using correct material codes and documentation.
  • Liaise with storekeepers to reconcile SAP stock balances with physical inventory.
  • Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or excesses, supporting just-in-time availability.
  • Coordinate equipment transfers between business units.
  • Track and document inter-plant movement of trucks and related assets.
  • Support the coding and commissioning of new trucks in SAP.

Requirements
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in material or maintenance operations, preferably in a logistics or fleet environment.

Skills:

  • Solid understanding of SAP (especially MM module).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and support decision-making with relevant insights.
  • Effective communication and collaboration across departments.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
