We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Human Resource Officer
Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring the implementation of all human resources processes according to various Company policies.
- Ensure to communicate the organization’s core values, vision, mission and ethical behaviors to new employees during orientation.
- Develop and encourage processes and practices that will provide new employee orientation, high performance culture that support the company’s business goals.
- Manage manpower supply and contract.
- Responsible for contract negotiations, preparation of contract of employment and adding the new employee into the payroll.
- Responsible for CV reviews, cataloguing, storing of the CV to be available when needed.
- Responsible to perform basic manpower planning in conjunction with the Human resource director.
- Support of the unit manager in the processes of recruitment, selection and placement are conducted in a fair, transparent, and efficient manner.
- Must be a party of the panel of interviewing body or as may be required by the upper management.
- Create and maintain personnel files for each employee.
- Prepare and ensure payments of all employees’ salaries on schedule.(Inhouse staff, vessel crew and manpower contract staff)
- Support the unit manager on all Performance management activities.
- Prepare all supporting documents required by employees which include but not limited to embassy documents, immigration supporting documents, Pension supporting documents, letters of references for all types.
- Prepare and constantly updating all company information relating to monthly employee nominal roll, leave information, absence register, training and development records.
- Ensure that all statutory benefits for all employees are complied with within the confines of the law.
- Ensure the company policy is followed completely with regards to employee compensation and benefits.
- Prepare, review and update company documents such as employee handbook and job descriptions files at the least once in every two (2) years.
- Promote learning opportunities throughout the organization.
- In charge of staff welfare, promoting best practice in health and safety and environment.
- Required to report all relevant information which may affect or be useful to the human resources unit to the Human resources manager in a timely manner.
- Consistently present to the management outstanding issues or current trends in laws and follow up until they have been reasonably implemented.
- Attend all the company-organized training courses when invited.
- Be aware of and obey the Company rules & perform the activities required by relevant procedures on various issues.
- Organize travel, prepare visa and relevant joining documentation management including letter of invitation to Nigerian Embassy of the expatriate country of origin or residence, Waybill (Cablegram)
- Follow up on Visa extension (Nigeria), STR (Expatriate quota)
- Provide logistics to all marine local and expatriate staff from Lagos airport to vessel embarkation or Rivers to Vessel point.
- Provide air ticketing for expatriates.
- Any other responsibilities assigned by Management.

Requirements
- Cognate work experience 3 years at the minimum in a HR Role
- Certification with any recognized HR body such as CIPMN, CIPD or HRCI Ability
- Trainings in various contract management courses
- Trainings in Performance Management
- Training in Nigerian Labour law
Preferred Skills:
- Good communication and social skills
- Ability to prioritize and attend to multiple assignments.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Power Point, Excel, Visio
- High proficiency on Internet skills for research purposes
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, high energy, and enthusiasm.
- Show high levels of proactivity in problem solving.
- Required to show acceptable level of creativity.
