Job Summary
- Western Development Company Limited (WDCL), a leading service provider in the Oil and Gas sector, is seeking to hire a highly skilled Account Officer with proven experience in handling financial transactions within oil and gas operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, banking operations, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports specific to oil and gas project operations.
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements and internal reports for management review.
- Track, monitor, and report on project expenditure, operational costs, and revenue streams.
- Assist with audits, tax preparations, and compliance with local and industry regulations.
- Liaise with clients, vendors, and partners to resolve any accounting-related issues.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting roles within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. ICAN/ACCA certification is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas financial transactions, contract accounting, and project finance.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems).
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
