Job Title: Rig Electrician
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Description
- Inspect, maintain, and repair rig electrical systems including power generation and distribution, lighting, motors, panels, and control systems.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on rig generators, SCR systems, switchgear, transformers, and drilling control systems.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and follow proper lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance tasks.
- Support rig-up and rig-down activities by ensuring proper connection and disconnection of electrical systems.
- Collaborate with rig mechanics and technicians during integrated maintenance activities
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and spare parts usage.
Requirements
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Valid Electrical License or Certification (if applicable in operating region).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an oil & gas rig environment.
- Solid understanding of rig electrical systems (AC/DC, PLCs, VFDs, motors, lighting, etc.).
- Experience with safety standards such as ATEX, IECEx, or NEC is an added advantage.
