Job Title: Chief Mechanic

Job Description
- Oversee the inspection, servicing, and repair of rig mechanical systems including engines, pumps, compressors, mud systems, rotary tables, top drives, draw works, and HVAC.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all mechanical equipment.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of rig mechanics and technical crew.
- Assign maintenance tasks, monitor performance, and ensure proper execution of mechanical operations.
- Ensure all mechanical work complies with company HSE policies, regulatory standards, and OEM specifications.
- Conduct and participate in safety meetings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of critical spare parts and mechanical tools.
- Raise requisitions for spare parts in a timely manner to avoid operational disruptions.
Requirements
- Technical Diploma or Certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience in rig mechanical maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of drilling rig components and diesel-powered mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with OEM standards for Caterpillar engines, National Oilwell Varco (NOV) equipment, and similar systems.
- Offshore survival and safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET) for offshore roles
