Job Summary
- The role supports the Head, Sustainability in managing the integration of ESG in business operations, coordinating with management and stakeholders, to set sustainability priorities and execute strategies for reporting and compliance, CO2 reduction and drive sustainability innovation.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Directs the sustainability program to ensure compliance with local, international and industry protocols.
- Collaborates with relevant functional heads in setting ESG targets and monitoring performance and improvement plans.
- Develops and executes strategies to address ESG issues such as GHGs, particulate emissions, circular economy, mines rehabilitation, waste and water management, as well as local content, diversity and inclusion.
- Oversees sustainability initiatives in all plants and Transport division, considering factors such as cost effectiveness, technical feasibility, operational efficiency, and integration with other initiatives.
- Performs forecasting and provides decision-useful analysis for management and Board steer on sustainability/ESG matters.
- Assesses risks and opportunities related to water, climate and other environmental impacts of business operations, flagging them to management and relevant Board Committee
- Collaborates with relevant functions to develop governance frameworks such as ESG related policies and standard operating procedures.
- Drives ESG best practices within the value chain, especially suppliers, vendors and other business partners within the business’ sphere of influence.
- Advocates the sustainability ownership to internal stakeholders and collaborates with Corporate Communications on promoting the goals and achievements of the business to external publics.
- Represents the business on sustainability partnerships, alliances and institutions that support the achievement of corporate governance goals.
Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Science, or related courses.
- Advanced Degree in Sustainable development, energy transition or innovation related field.
Work Experience:
- 12+ years of experience in Sustainability, Environmental & Social Risk Management, Corporate Social Responsibility, Consulting in related fields, Change and Business Improvement Management.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, energy or related industry.
- 5+ years of business consulting experience.
- 5+ in Sustainability Reporting using GRI, SASB and related global reporting standards
- Other related professional experiences
