LABI Nigeria is a well establish humanitarian actor within Nigeria and has unique expertise in the thematic areas of Case Management, Child Protection Women Empowerment, GBV, Nutrition, and Education in emergencies. LABI Nigeria aims to provide holistic prevention and response intervention by working in partnership with children, women, families, and their communities. LABI Nigeria key programs include community-based child protection mechanism, family base care for unaccompanied children, psychosocial care and support provided through individual case management, child-friendly spaces and parenting skills program, release and reintegration of women and children associated with armed group,s and prevention of child labor through life skills, recreational activities, and provision of food and non-food items (NFIs). LABI has the mandate of reintegrated approach where Child protection, prevention, and treatment of SGBV are combined and complementary in emergencies settings.

Location:  MMC, Jere and Kwaya-Kusar LGAs of Borno Potiskum LGA of Yobe State Northeast Nigeria

General Objective

The CMAM provider will directly undertake all CMAM Activities at the site; Screening at site, admission, Record keeping, discharge, distribution etc.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Project Activity implementation:

  • S/he will be responsible for Nutrition Education at CMAM site.
  • S/he will conduct CMAM activities at the site; screening at site, admission, Record keeping, discharge, distribution, and beneficiary review.
  • In Liaison with his/her supervisor, s/he will review beneficiary progress and determine cases for referrals, re-admission, or Discharge.
  • S/he will generate lists for follow-ups and share/discuss with outreach teams for follow-up.
  • S/he will be responsible for project beneficiary sensitization and advise on IYCF and RUTF/RUSF use at CMAM sites.
  • Any other Duty as may be required by the supervisor.

Collaboration in the communities:

  • S/he will help nurture good collaboration between LABDI and local community leaders.
  • Act as a liaison with the local population and authorities to identify the needs, grievances and major events that could have potential consequences for LABDI activities.
  • Help to ensure that beneficiaries and local populations both understand the project goals and actively participate in their implementation.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Data collection and timely report compilation and submission.
  • Pass on any information or problems to his/her direct and/or indirect supervisor concerning his/her task, LABDI programs, or safety aspects.
  • Address any issues on the field with the beneficiaries or the community members and tell the line supervisor.
  • Represent LABDI at anytime and anywhere when s/he is in duty.
  • S/he will help collect and Compile data, pictures, and information from the field to present weekly internal reports to the livelihood supervisor.
  • S/he will help to Present weekly achievements, problems encountered and suggestion to improve the project implementation.
  • S/he will help strengthen the Organization’s community Feedback and complains system.
  • Participate in assessments as may be required by the supervisor.

Logistic & administration:

  • Contribute to logistical and administrative organization of the activities.
  • Contribute to the definition of the needs in materials and tools regarding the program and the planning of interventions.
  • Ensure the safety and good condition of all material provided by LABDI.

Required Skills

  • Language skills: Fluent in English, and Local Dialects: Hausa, Bura and Kanuri.
  • Education Degree: Certificate in a Health-related discipline or certificate of secondary education with at least 2 years experience in CMAM activities.
  • Work experience: At least 2 years experience in CMAM.
  • Demonstrated understanding of infant and Young Child Nutrition.

Worked in CMAM activities.

  • Previous experience with NGO is required.
  • Experience in MOH systems and structure.
  • Previous experience in Food Security programs.
  • Previous experience in Humanitarian assessment, monitoring and evaluation is an asset.

Other Requirements:

  • Excellent Field work skills.
  • Trained on CMAM and IYCN.
  • Commitment to the NGO values and principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of Borno State, willing to travel locally.
  • Excellent Teamwork skills.
  • Stress Management and flexibility.
  • Strong Negotiator, Diplomatic and with problem solving skills.
  • Rigor and organization.
  • Honesty.
