Job Title: Shift Incharge – Operations (Beneficiation Plant)

Location: Gujeni, Kaduna

Position Summary

  • The Shift Incharge – Operations (Beneficiation) will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the beneficiation plant during their assigned shift. This includes managing shift personnel, ensuring safety standards, optimizing plant performance, and achieving production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate plant operations during the shift to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Monitor process parameters and make real-time decisions to maintain optimal output and quality.
  • Ensure timely start-up and shut-down of the plant in line with SOPs.
  • Maintain detailed shift logs and handover reports.
  • Implement safety protocols and ensure all activities comply with HSE standards.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely resolution.
  • Train and mentor plant operators and junior staff to maintain high performance.
  • Coordinate raw material feeding and finished product handling.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns immediately to the Maintenance team.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards and production KPIs.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Diploma or B.Tech / B.Eng in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in a beneficiation or mineral processing plant, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of mineral beneficiation processes (crushing, grinding, screening, classification, flotation, etc.).
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate shift teams.
  • Familiar with plant safety standards, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

Work Conditions:

  • Shift-based work (day/night rotation).
  • Field-based supervision in an industrial environment.
  • May involve extended hours based on operational requirements.
