Concern on Climate Change for the Community Initiative (FOURCi)

Concern on Climate Change for the Community Initiative (FOURCi) is a non-profit organization group of Academics, Environmentalists, Agricultural Experts, Health experts, Building Experts and community volunteers coming together with their different expertise with one voice and concern towards safeguarding the future of our climate. Currently, the organization has focused its attention on the North East of Nigeria with special emphasis on Borno, Adamawa and Yobe State. (BAY) state. FOURCi interventions fall under the following thematic focuses;  Climate Education & Advocacy, Livelihood and Climate Smart Agriculture, Protection and Gender Based Violence, Nutrition, Environmental Sustainability and Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Logistics and Procurement Officer

Location: Bama and Gwoza

Slot: 1 Opening.

Contract Duration:4 Months

Start Date: ASAP Job Description

  • Develop Logistics along with support plans, budget requirements and deployment timelines for new operations.
  • Develop logistics plans for current operations and logistics contingency plans
  • Identify required materials, and services needed for the project, and services needed for the project, sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring that all procurements activities are conducted in accordance with FOURCi’s policies and procedures.
  • Draft request for quotes (RFQs), purchase orders and local consultant agreements
  • In collaboration with technical teams, obtain and review product specifications or scope of work for services; ensure that specifications and scopes are clear, objective, and complete.
  • Conduct review and evaluation of bids; Ensure participation of relevant technical staff and consistency with evaluation criteria.
  • Preparing and implementing procurement plans
  • Implementing all FOURCi’s procurement SOPs.
  • Collecting, organizing and analyzing data.
  • Monitor supply market and conduct market surveys & analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement and logistic activities.
  • Collect, organize, and develop all data, files and documents.
  • Preparation of weekly work plans according to the implementation plan.
  • Demonstrate value for money in procurement.
  • Review procurement documents for accuracy before taking payment for approval.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOW HOW) EDUCATIONAL TRAINING AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Marketing, Business administration or equivalent field experience.
  • At least three years’ experience from working as a procurement and logistics in a humanitarian context.
  • Good command of English both verbal and written;
  • Good personal and organizational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to coordinate and work with diverse groups of people based in multiple locations.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities that may require overtime or extended hours.
