We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Abuja (Remote)

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, negotiate, and secure partnerships with media outlets, tech platforms, and content distributors.
  • Cultivate relationships with advertisers, sponsors, and affiliate networks tailored to news content.
  • Develop and implement monetisation strategies (for instance, sponsored content, membership programs, native advertising).
  • Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and product teams to package and pitch bundled offerings.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, audience segments, and competitive dynamics in the digital news industry.
  • Generate actionable insights to guide product development and content positioning.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales funnel—from lead generation and qualification to contract closing and rollout.
  • Utilise CRM tools to track performance metrics, forecast revenue, and refine outreach strategies.
  • Partner with editorial and product teams to tailor offerings that align with WikkiTimes’ brand and journalistic standards.
  • Collaborate with marketing to design co-branded campaigns that enhance reach and engagement.
  • Represent WikkiTimes at industry events, webinars, and conferences.
  • Drive thought-leadership initiatives—whitepapers, panel discussions, and case studies—to elevate our profile.
  • Set KPIs, track monthly and quarterly targets, and deliver transparent reports to senior leadership.
  • Continuously optimise approaches based on data-driven learnings.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 4+ years in business development or sales roles within digital media, online publishing, or SaaS for news/marketing.
  • Proven track record of closing high-value deals with advertisers, media partners, or platform integrators.
  •  Comfortable interpreting audience metrics, A/B test results, and revenue forecasts.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills; can craft compelling pitches and presentations.
  • Familiarity with digital advertising ecosystems, CMS platforms, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Able to work autonomously in a remote environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
