Job Summary
- We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations at our buka-style restaurant.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Nigerian/local dishes, customer service, kitchen coordination, and team management.
- You will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring food quality, managing inventory, and driving customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations Management:
- Oversee the smooth running of daily buka activities, including food preparation, serving, and cleanliness.
- Ensure that all food served meets quality, taste, and hygiene standards.
- Monitor kitchen and service staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
Staff Supervision & Scheduling:
- Supervise cooks, servers, cleaners, and other staff to ensure proper performance.
- Create staff work schedules and ensure full attendance and punctuality.
- Handle conflict resolution and enforce discipline when necessary.
Customer Service:
- Greet and interact with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Handle complaints professionally and promptly.
- Maintain a friendly and welcoming environment for all customers.
Inventory & Cost Management:
- Monitor food stock levels and kitchen supplies; reorder when needed.
- Reduce food waste and manage portion control to maximize profits.
- Keep track of daily sales, expenses, and cash flow.
Hygiene, Safety & Cleanliness
- Ensure the kitchen, dining area, and surroundings are kept clean at all times.
- Enforce food safety and sanitation standards as per health regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of food storage and preparation areas.
Sales & Promotion:
- Suggest daily specials or seasonal meal options to increase customer interest.
- Collaborate with the owner to introduce local marketing strategies (e.g., discounts, referrals, social media promos).
- Encourage upselling by staff to boost daily revenue.
Requirements
- Minimum of SSCE; Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or related field is an advantage.
- At least 8 years of experience managing a restaurant, canteen, or buka.
- Knowledge of Nigerian/local dishes and traditional food handling.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Good numerical and record-keeping abilities.

- Firm but fair leadership style.

- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
