Job Title: Generator Operator

Job Overview
- Overseeing the efficient operations of the utility section (Generators / Chillers/ Compressors / Boilers).
Key Responsibilities
The Generator Operator’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Inspect all generators and check for oil/water/diesel leaks; address the leaks immediately. Inform the line manager in case of any abnormalities.
- During every shift, measuring the diesel tank using the dip stick/reading
- Filling inspection reports every shift without error.
- Inspect all the compressors supplying the generators, check for air/oil leaks, and drain the condensate from the air receiver tanks. In case of faults, report to the line manager.
- Inspect all the compressors for factory utilities, check for air/oil leaks. Record running hours and report in case of any abnormalities.
- Inspect all the chiller units belonging to factory utilities, check the radiator and clean it once a month to maintain the chiller efficiency. Check for leaks and abnormalities, and report to the line manager
- Ensure the water station for factory supply is in good working condition at all times, and replace the filters in case of any blockages. Make sure any water leaks are addressed.
- The diesel boiler fuel tank level is to be checked every shift and make sure it is kept full, check the water level and make sure the pumps are in good working condition.
- Ensure the fuel filters for the diesel boiler are not blocked; in case of blockage, replace them. Perform the blowdown process to discharge condensate.
- Ensure water treatment for boilers is done properly, inform/report any abnormalities observed
- Perform daily routine checks to ensure that all the utility equipment is in good working condition. Responsible for updating the shift reports
- Responsible for receiving/discharging of diesel trucks to the designated storage tanks as per SOP
- Communicate with the line manager about any faulty equipment, malfunction or damage found around the generator/utility area
- Responsible for ensuring an optimal shift handover to his incoming shift.
- Complete all daily generator and utilities reports/documentation and submit to the line manager. Communicate effectively with zero errors.
- Assist the utilities engineer in any repair/maintenance/overhauling work of machines.
- Ensures generator/utility areas to prevent oil spillage, damage and occupational hazards.
- Ensure all the utility equipment (Generators/Compressors/Chillers/Boilers) is well taken care of and kept in good working condition and if any problems, inform the line manager immediately.
- Make a safe and orderly working environment by identifying workplace safety and hazards.
- Ensure all oil and fuel spillages/waste are collected and reported, and stored at the designated location.
- Ensure that all working areas are kept clean and tidy according to GMP standards.
- Ensure compliance with FSSC 22000, ISO 22000:2018, ISO/TS 22002 and HACCP standards and procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the utility engineer or the Line Manager.
Requirements
- Qualification: B.Sc, OND / HND qualification in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 3 years and above
- Gender: Male, preferably
- Age: Not more than 45 years.
Abilities / Requirements:
- Operate and monitor power generators safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs.
- Maintain accurate logs and communicate issues clearly.
- Follow safety protocols and use proper protective equipment.
