Job Summary

  • Green Grass Investment Limited is a fast-growing, innovation-driven company engaged in lithium exploration, excavation, and mineral exportation. As part of our operations in Ngaski, Kebbi State, we are developing a world-class mining and beneficiation site. We are looking to hire a skilled and reliable Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our engineering and maintenance team.
  • The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment used in our mining and processing operations.
  • The ideal candidate will bring hands-on technical expertise, a strong safety mindset, and a proactive approach to equipment reliability in a rugged and dynamic mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on mining equipment, pumps, conveyors, crushers, and processing plant systems.
  • Carry out installation and alignment of rotating equipment, gearboxes, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and execute timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and engineering schematics.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, safety guidelines, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Lubricate, adjust, and replace parts such as bearings, seals, belts, couplings, and filters.
  • Collaborate with electrical and fabrication teams during equipment overhauls and shutdowns.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, spare parts inventory, and repair documentation.
  • Conduct inspections to identify early signs of wear or damage and recommend corrective actions.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures, including lockout/tag-out (LOTO) and risk assessments.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • National Diploma (ND), Technical Trade Test, NABTEB, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1–4years relevant hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within mining, cement, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and rotating machinery.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and alignment tools.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic reporting.
  • Physically fit and willing to work in a remote location and rugged terrain.
  • Certification in mechanical maintenance, HSE, or equipment handling is an added advantage.
