Job Summary
- We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Chemistry Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for science among students, delivering engaging lessons aligning with curriculum standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons for students for
- Design and implement practical experiments and demonstrations using available lab resources.
- Assess student progress regularly through tests, assignments, and practicals.
- Prepare students for internal and external examinations (e.g., WAEC, NECO, IGCSE as applicable).
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation.
- Collaborate with fellow science staff to enrich the overall science curriculum.
- Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development programs.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field (Postgraduate qualification is an advantage).
- A teaching qualification (e.g., PGDE, TRCN certification).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
- Sound knowledge of national curriculum standards and assessment procedures.
- Proficiency in using technology to support teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Passion for educating and mentoring young minds.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with international curricula (e.g., IGCSE, IB) is an added advantage.
- Ability to integrate STEAM approaches and real-world applications into Chemistry lessons.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and innovation in teaching.
