We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: General Manager & Business Development Manager – Logistics

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve overall logistics business and operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Manage and lead a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align logistics strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Drive business growth Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high service levels and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and safety guidelines.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, vendors, and other external partners to enhance operational efficiency and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in logistics management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics Management or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in a leadership role within the logistics industry or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics operations including transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control systems, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams as well as external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team towards common goals while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach towards resolving issues promptly.
  • Proficiency in using logistics software and MS Office Suite.
