We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Description 

  • The Finance Manager is a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing and managing the financial activities of the company.
  • This role involves financial planning, analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • S/he will provide valuable insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and drive profitable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast future performance.
  • Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insightful commentary on variances.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct variance analysis to explain differences between actual results and budget/forecast.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial strategies.
  • Perform profitability analysis by product, customer, or segment.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and capital expenditure requests.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads.
  • Develop and maintain budget templates and guidelines. Manage variance.
  • Monitor budget performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare rolling forecasts to provide updated projections of future performance.

Financial Reporting:

  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting records.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (or Other Relevant Accounting Standards)
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting regulations and tax laws.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of financial analysts or accountants (depending on the size of the organization).
  • Provide guidance and support to team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Other Duties:

  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Provide financial support to other departments as required.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested by management.
  • Work closely with other departments such as sales, marketing, and operations to gather and analyze financial data.
