They are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Electro Technical Officer
Location: Port Harcourt – Rivers
Line Manager: MSUP
Key Responsibilities
- The maintenance and repair of the unit’s electronic and electrical equipment.
- Be literate with Emergency Shutdown and Fire and Gas Detection systems
- Take supportive role as backup personnel to production Instrument Technician
Special Responsibilities
- To be fully familiar with rules, regulations and work procedures applicable to his responsibilities.
- The maintenance and repair of all electronic and electrical equipment including:
- High and low voltage systems
- Safety and alarm systems
- Bridge equipment
- Radio equipment
- Internal communications equipment
- Steering systems
- Engine room equipment
- Generators and motors
- To report any hazardous situation or equipment failure to MSUP as appropriate
- Familiar with the PTW System
- Carry out routine safety/mugger tests and checks on equipment as required by MSUP
- That electrical and electronic spare parts and stores are checked and safely stored and that replenishments are ordered through the MSUP
- Maintenance of computer network
Certificates Training:
- Electro Technical Officer Certificate, STCW95 – Reg. III/6

Professional Qualifications & Experience
- Have completed approved education and training and meet the standard of competence specified in section A-III/6 of the STCW Code; and
- Meet the standard of competence specified in section A-VI/1 paragraph 2, section A-VI/2 paragraph 1 to 4, section A-VI/3 paragraph 1 to 4 and section A-VI/4 paragraph 1 to 3 of the STCW Code
- Excellent command in English, written and spoken
- Have completed not less than 12 months of combined workshop skills training and approved seagoing service of which not less than six months shall be seagoing service as part of an approved training program which meets the requirements of section A-III/6 of the STCW Code and is documented in an approved training record book, or otherwise not less than 36 months of combined workshop skills training and approved seagoing service of which not less than 30 months shall be seagoing service in the engine department
