Job Title: Senior Coordinator, Procurement (LIPS Project)
Location: Abuja
Purpose of the position
- The Senior Coordinator, Procurement (LIPS Project) will support eHA’s Laboratory System and Diagnostics predominantly by ensuring the efficient and compliant procurement of laboratory equipment and infrastructure materials for the Laboratory Infrastructure and Procurement Strengthening Project, enhancing supply chain efficiency and transparency.
- By collaborating with key stakeholders to facilitate cost-effective and timely procurement, this role directly supports eHA’s mission to strengthen health systems and improve laboratory capacity across multiple African countries.
What you’ll do
The Senior Coordinator, Procurement (LIPS Project) will support eHA’s Laboratory System and Diagnostics predominantly by:
Procurement Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement procurement plans aligned with project objectives and donor requirements.
- Assess laboratory equipment, consumables, and infrastructure procurement needs in collaboration with technical teams.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, ensuring competitive and cost-effective sourcing.
Procurement Process Management:
- Prepare and review tender documents, requests for quotations (RFQs), and bid evaluations.
- Negotiate contracts, ensuring favorable terms, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Oversee procurement timelines to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
- Ensure compliance with international procurement standards and donor regulations (e.g., Gates Foundation, WHO AFRO).
Stakeholder Coordination & Compliance:
- Liaise with government institutions, donors, vendors, and project teams to streamline procurement processes.
- Provide technical guidance on procurement policies, contract management, and supply chain best practices.
- Ensure transparency and accountability in all procurement activities.
Quality Assurance & Risk Management:
- Conduct due diligence on suppliers and service providers to assess reliability and compliance.
- Monitor procurement risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure procured laboratory equipment and supplies meet international quality and accreditation standards.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and vendor databases.
- Prepare procurement reports, progress updates, and audit documentation.
- Document lessons learned and best practices for continuous improvement.
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree in Procurement and Logistics, Public Health, Health Economics, or Laboratory Sciences is preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in the laboratory and diagnostic sector.
- Experience managing procurement for laboratory infrastructure, reagents, diagnostic devices and equipment, and biosafety materials.
- Previous involvement in international health procurement with organizations such as WHO, Global Fund, USAID, Gates Foundation, and UNICEF.
- Experience working with government institutions, donors, and international NGOs.
- Familiarity with electronic procurement systems.
