About the role
The Senior Specialist Livestock Development will be an integral part of the Christian Nigeria Programme, providing necessary technical support across the various levels of the poultry value chain and the ecosystem in the implementation of sustainable entrepreneurship-Led Poultry Transformation Program (SEPTP); a Mastercard Foundation Funded Programme for Young Persons in Nigeria. The position holder will carry out project planning and coordination, specialized guidance, and technical support, monitor and evaluate the progress of the livestock-related projects, manage projects’ stakeholder communication and relations, ensure adherence and compliance to sector-related regulations; and provide comprehensive project updates/decisions and outcomes to the Senior Leadership Team of the country programme. The role holder will collaborate with the country team, consortium members, sub-partners and project participants
About you
- The role holder must have a Master’s Degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, Project Management, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus. He/she must have proven experience in livestock management with a strong understanding of animal health, nutrition, and breeding; experience in project management or working within a Project Management Office is highly desirable with strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- He or she should have excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders as well as proficiency in project management software and tools, as well as livestock management systems.
