Responsibilities

Tasks to be performed under this contract

  • First deliverable – Develop a comprehensive SOP document detailing step-by-step procedures for medical assistance at both airport receptions and transit centers. This should cover initial medical screening, confidentiality protocols, documentation requirements, and treatment/referral processes – Deliverable within two months of assumption of post. 
  • Second deliverable -Implement or update an electronic record-keeping system (e.g., within Mimosa or another database) to capture all medical interventions provided. This should include fields for screening outcomes, treatments administered, referrals made, and follow-up results- Deliverable within two months of assumption of post.
  • Final deliverable – Compile and submit monthly and quarterly program report that includes: An overview of all migration health activities (detailing the number of beneficiaries screened, initial logistical preparations, key performance indicators and any identified gaps/challenges)-Deliverable monthly and by end of quarter in which post assumed

Performance indicators for the evaluation of results

  • SOP completed, reviewed, and formally approved by Program Manager within the targeted timeframe (100% approved within 2 months of assumption of post)
  • A fully operational electronic database ensuring 100% of beneficiary interactions are documented within the stipulated time-frame for completion.
  • Comprehensive monthly and end-of-quarter report highlighting performance metrics and areas for improvement submitted to management within 5 working days of end of month/end-of-quarter.

Qualifications

Education

  • University degree in Medicine with at least three years of relevant work experience; or,
  • Desirable: Master’s degree in public health with specialization in public health, medicine or infectious diseases 

Experience

  • A minimum of two years relevant clinical experience in the humanitarian sector; preferably the United Nations. 
  • Registered to practice in Nigeria and with a valid registration license. 
  • Experience in administration/management an advantage. 
  • Continuous clinical experience in busy public or private hospitals is also an added advantage. 
  • Training/experience in Paediatrics, Internal Medicine or Infectious Diseases is an advantage. 
  • Experience liaising with federal and state health agencies and NGO partners. 
  • Good knowledge of information technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, and SharePoint. 
  • Ability to work under pressure with heavy workloads and tight timelines. 
  • Willing to accept flexible work schedule. 
  • Attention to details and accuracy in handling and reporting data. 
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines in challenging settings. 
  • Ability to work in multicultural and multi-ethnic environments.
