Description

  • To support our growth, we are expanding our Capital Markets team to lead a local currency debt fundraising program.
  • Our goal is to offer debt investors various innovative solutions to provide FairMoney, a fast-growing and prudent fintech, with debt funds. We need your help to achieve this.
  • As a team leader, you will oversee a team that recently concluded the company’s debut N2.5 billion Commercial Paper and raised over $50 million in local debt in the last two years. We expect you to bring fresh ideas and a strong network to manage and drive successful debt capital raising.
  • You will have the experience needed to run a debt capital raise process end-to-end with minimal supervision.
  • Moreover, you will have a passion for leveraging your existing knowledge to develop relevant relationships and achieve FairMoney’s ambitious debt fundraising goals.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Capital Markets Team is responsible for driving the Company’s local debt fundraising efforts which supports FairMoney’s mission to provide banking services to all consumers across emerging markets. The Team deploys various innovative debt funding solutions for the Company. We are currently looking for an AVP – Capital Markets for our Nigerian operations who would:

  • Ensure that the FairMoney Nigeria loan book has adequate capital markets debt funding by managing successive private and public debt funding issuances.
  • You would do this by managing the overall fundraising process including directing and coordinating all relevant professional parties: i.e. solicitors, financial advisers, trustees, etc.
  • You would be responsible for maintaining and improving FairMoney Nigeria’s existing investment grade ratings (2) by managing the relationship with Rating Agencies and leading the annual rating reviews.

Additional aspects of the Role include:

  • Support the development & execution of Capital raising strategy.
  • Develop a pipeline and network of debt investors and manage relationships until financial close.
  • Review or prepare transaction documents.
  • Develop innovative funding structures for the company.
  • Conduct periodic competitive analyses and maintain a comprehensive view of capital market industry performance.
  • Develop clear presentations and capital market documents to facilitate conversations with potential and prospective investors.

Requirements

  • B.Sc in any related field, M.Sc in Finance, MBA, or other relevant certification is an advantage.
  • 8 years of professional experience in Investment Banking, Capital Markets, and Corporate Finance with at least 4 years in Debt Capital Markets.
  • Experienced Investment Banking/Corporate Finance Analyst or Associate.
  • Have a growth mindset.
  • Strong Corporate Finance Knowledge.
  • Ability to manage transactions (finance and project management).
  • Must have financial services experience or focus.
  • Demonstrable experience in executing Capital Markets (Debt or Equity) transactions, M&A advisory, Project Finance.
  • Strong Presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Knowledgeable about Capital Markets, the Economy and general financial markets.
