Job Title: Continuous Casting Machine Operator (CCM)

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Shift Supervisor / Production Manager

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and skilled Continuous Casting Machine Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining continuous casting machines to produce high-quality steel or metal products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Operate continuous casting machines, including setting up and adjusting machine parameters, monitoring production, and making adjustments as needed.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and control the quality of the cast product, including inspecting for defects, testing for chemical composition, and adjusting machine parameters to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts, to ensure machine reliability and efficiency.
  • Safety Procedures: Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with other production team members, including shift supervisors, maintenance personnel, and quality control inspectors, to ensure efficient and effective production.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot machine issues, including identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and documenting results.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including production reports, quality control data, and maintenance records.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience operating continuous casting machines or similar equipment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Possess a strong technical knowledge of continuous casting processes, including machine operation, quality control, and maintenance.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Possess mechanical aptitude, including the ability to troubleshoot and repair machine issues.
  • Safety Awareness: Possess a strong safety awareness, including knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
