Job Title: Office Driver

Job Overview / Summary
- The Office Driver will be responsible for the safe transportation of staff, goods, and materials and will provide support for logistical tasks as needed.
Main Responsibilities
Driving and Transportation:
- Ensure the safe and timely transportation of staff and goods to various locations.
- Plan routes and maintain a thorough understanding of road conditions, ensuring compliance with traffic rules and regulations.
- Provide transportation support for field activities, ensuring all operations are conducted with efficiency and safety.
Vehicle Maintenance and Management:
- Conduct routine checks to ensure vehicles are in excellent working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues or damage promptly and ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner.
- Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and equipped with essential tools and safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance records.
Administrative Support:
- Actively collaborate with the logistics team to ensure seamless operations
- Assist with logistical tasks such as delivering documents and materials to designated locations.
- Support in vehicle documentation management, including service schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Always drive according to the Nigerian circulation code and respecting speed limits
- Always wearing safety belt while driving and ensuring all passengers do the same
- Ensuring you have a valid driving license and always have it ready for any eventual inspection
- Ensuring that all necessary documents are valid and renewed before the expiration date.
- Report on any security related issues to the supervisor
- Supporting operational organization of field trips
- Maintaining full confidentiality for all work-related information
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of SSCE or equivalent; additional certifications in defensive driving, vehicle maintenance, or related areas are an advantage.
- Experience: 2-5 years of proven driving experience, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector.
- A good knowledge of Borno context and its environs.
- Valid Nigerian driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Familiarity with local routes and terrain in Borno State.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle repairs.
Technical Skills:
- Driving Skills:Â Proven experience in safe driving, including defensive driving techniques.
- Vehicle Maintenance:Â Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics to identify and report issues.
- Communication:Â Clear and professional communication skills.
- Time Management:Â Ability to manage schedules and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Integrity:Â Demonstrates accountability, honesty, and professionalism in all activities.
