Job Summary
- The Client Service Representative (Collections) is responsible for contacting customers to collect outstanding debts while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- This role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to assist clients in resolving their outstanding balances while adhering to company policies and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to collect overdue payments.
- Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements in accordance with company policies.
- Provide clients with accurate account information and resolve billing disputes professionally.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all customer interactions in the system.
- Identify and escalate complex collection issues to management when necessary.
- Follow up on past-due accounts to ensure timely payments.
- Educate clients on payment options, account terms, and potential consequences of non-payment.
- Adhere to all relevant compliance and regulatory requirements, including the Fair Debt and company policies.
- Work closely with other departments, including customer service and finance, to resolve account issues.
- Meet or exceed monthly collection targets and performance metrics.
Qualifications & Skills
- 0-1 year of experience in collections, customer service, or a related field.
- Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and target-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in financial services, banking, or call center collections.
- Knowledge of debt collection laws and compliance regulations.
