Job Title: Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Role Overview

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QA Lead to join our software development team.
  • As a QA Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, functionality, and reliability of our software products.
  • Your responsibilities will involve designing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with the development team to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Your efforts will directly contribute to delivering an exceptional user experience to our clients.

What You will be Doing Everyday

  • Test Planning: Collaborate with the product management and development teams to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive test plans and test cases that cover all functional aspects of the software.
  • Test Execution: Conduct various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and integration testing, to identify defects and ensure the software meets quality standards.
  • Defect Identification and Reporting: Use testing tools and methodologies to identify, document, and report software defects or anomalies. Work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts to streamline the testing process and increase test coverage. Continuously enhance test automation frameworks for optimal efficiency.
  • Test Data Management: Create and maintain test data sets to ensure comprehensive testing across different scenarios and environments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality assurance and software development processes.
  • Compatibility Testing: Validate the software’s performance across various devices, browsers, and operating systems.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results for reference and future use.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and project managers, to drive effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Release Management: Assist in the release process by conducting final checks to ensure software readiness for deployment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years proven experience as a QA Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with test management tools, bug tracking systems, and test automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages for test automation (e.g., Java, Python, Selenium).
  • Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail to identify potential issues and suggest improvements.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a team and across departments.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks while meeting deadlines.
