Job Summary
- As a SAP Data Engineer, your role involves extracting, integrating, and transforming data from diverse sources to meet business requirements.
- You will work collaboratively with SAP developers, data analysts, IT professionals, and business users to align data architecture with organisational priorities.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SAP BW/eHANA solutions.
- Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) using SAP BW and HANA.
- Create custom data extractions and transformations leveraging ABAP programming.
- Build and manage data models, schemas, and calculation views in SAP HANA Studio.
- Develop and optimise SAP BW Process Chains for automation and job orchestration.
- Implement scalable and reliable data pipelines using cloud platforms such as AWS or Snowflake.
- Integrate data from various sources (SAP ECC, APIs, SQL Server, S3).
- Monitor and enhance data pipeline performance, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Document data engineering processes and recommend continuous improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience as a data engineer or similar roles.
- Strong proficiency in SAP BW 7.5 and SAP HANA Studio.
- Expertise in SAP BW on HANA, including advanced modelling techniques (e.g., ADSOs, Open ODS, Composite Providers).
- Proven experience with SAP ECC tables and structures.
- Proficiency in ABAP for custom extractions and transformations.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake) and automated data transformation tools (e.g., dbt, Informatica).
- Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau, and other visualization tools.
- Solid understanding of data governance, warehousing, and modelling principles.
- Ability to write and optimise SQL queries.
- Experience with SAP Business Objects (e.g., WebI, Lumira).
