CRS programs assist person on the basis of need, regardless of creed, ethnicity or nationality works through local church and non-church partners to implement its programs, therefore, strengthening and building the capacity of these partner organizations is fundamental to programs in every country in which CRS operates. CRS re-established presence in Nigeria m 2000 and currently focuses on agriculture, HIV and health extractives and governance, and peace building programming.

Job Summary:

The LMIS Manager will provide oversight in coordination with the leadership of the Supply Chain Management unit. Co-ordinate timely payments of suppliers and manage strategic relationships with external stakeholders. Your knowledge and experience will allow you to anticipate and manage commodity and logistics needs and challenges, and identify solutions, ensure compliance with CRS and donor regulations, international and local supply chain accountability standards and requirements, as you apply the principles of stewardship, integrity, transparency, and accountability.

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with direct reports and programming leads to run pipeline analyses, synchronize the supply of goods with programming needs, and ensure quality and efficiency of processes in compliance with CRS and donor regulations and international and local inventory accountability standards and requirements.
  • Manage the determination of logistics service requirements, desired specifications and delivery schedules, ensuring proper coordination and communication. Anticipate and identify potential or actual problems in the supply chain which may affect the short-term or long-term availability of individual goods and act to address those problems.
  • Effectively manage talent and supervise. Manage team dynamics and staff well-being. Provide coaching, strategically tailor individual development plans, and complete performance management for direct reports. Monitor and assess performance to ensure adequate capacity for successful support of high-quality programming. 
  • Identify and assess transportation resources, storage facilities, leasing options, and any other logistics services.  Maintain and oversee relationships with port operations, freight forwarders, customs clearing agents and key suppliers. Participate in coordination meetings to ensure planning and coordination of supply chain management activities.
  • Plan and manage the distribution chain from port of arrival to beneficiary distribution sites or disposal. Proactively mitigate security risks. Oversee and ensure the proper execution of the dispatch plan; work with programs staff to verify the dispatch plan’s adherence to the distribution plan.  Work with the Transport Officer and Warehouse Manager for efficient product movement.
  • Ensure high-quality preparation of accurate and complete product movement reports.
  • Create and maintain the proper conditions for learning. Establish a safe environment for the sharing of ideas, solutions, and difficulties and the capacity to detect, analyze and respond quickly to small deficiencies. Provide capacity strengthening guidance to staff and partners, which includes cross-departmental learning.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports pertaining to the status of goods and beneficiaries for internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Work in close collaboration with projects and operational supply chain staff to coordinate the collation of relevant SC data for reporting, reconcile accounting records and record discrepancies.
  • Assist and support the Supply Chain Management Unit in preparing for internal/external audits, quarterly stock verification exercises and the year-end Physical Inventory Count.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio). Experience with commodity tracking systems is a plus. 
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply or a relevant professional body will be an added advantage

Required Languages â€“ Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English Language is required 

Travel â€“ Must be willing and able to travel up to 20 %. 

Supervisory Responsibilities Inventory & Warehousing and SC-Account Payable units 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or other relevant degree required. Master’s degree in supply chain, other relevant Master’s strongly, or equivalent experience strongly preferred. Professional certification(s) in supply chain a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in supply chain/logistics management, with progressive responsibility, preferably with relief supply chain management.
  • Knowledge and experience with transportation, inventory management and distribution.
  • Staff management experience and abilities that are conducive to a learning environment, including experience with designing and facilitating trainings.
  • Knowledge of national and international import/export legislation and common customs regulations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of inventory tracking, accounting, and reporting systems and principles.
  • Knowledge of ERP for Supply Chain Management (ORACLE will be an added advantage)
