Job Title: Cook

Location: Badagry, Lagos

Job Summary

  • The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to recipes and dietary requirements while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. This role includes feeding and accommodation benefits to ensure the Cook’s convenience and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation:

  • Prepare and cook meals as per menu plans or specific instructions.
  • Follow portion sizes, presentation standards, and recipes to maintain quality and consistency.

Menu Planning:

  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop menus and meal schedules.
  • Consider dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests when planning meals.

Kitchen Hygiene and Safety:

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen at all times.
  • Ensure all food storage and preparation complies with food safety regulations.
  • Handle kitchen equipment and utensils safely and efficiently.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor food supplies and notify the management of any shortages or replenishment needs.
  • Assist in receiving and properly storing food deliveries.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth meal preparation and timely service.
  • Support and mentor junior staff when necessary.

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Prepare meals that meet customer expectations in taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Address feedback or complaints in a professional manner and adjust as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. A culinary certificate is an advantage.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a similar role. Experience with bulk meal preparation is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy kitchen supplies when needed.
