Job Title: Chemistry Teacher
Location: Akowonjo, Lagos
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Principal & Director of QEFAS preparatory school
Summary
- We are seeking a dedicated educator with a deep understanding of science subjects to shape student comprehension and prepare them for local examinations like UTME and WAEC. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing the understanding of these subjects for our students.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Create a supportive and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the school’s Chemistry curriculum.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events as required.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
- Uphold school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment for all.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, Masters, PhD or higher in Chemistry or related field.
- Teaching qualification/certification is preferred.
- Proven experience teaching Chemistry at the secondary school level, colleges or university.
- Strong knowledge of the Nigerian educational curriculum and assessment methods.
- ICT compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students in the learning process.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Proximity to Akowonjo, Lagos, ensuring timely arrival for teaching duties.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the school community.
Desirable:
- Possession of experience or credentials in English Language.
- Residency near the school’s location, or a willingness to relocate, to reduce transportation expenses.

- Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a total compensation of N100,000- N200,000.
