Job Title: Finance Coordinator Assistant
Location: Abuja (FCT)

Main Purpose
- Assisting the Finance and accountancy Manager in the implementation and follow-up of the finance procedure, guidelines & accounting procedure and policy of the projects, while controlling & checking the projects accountancy and supporting documents, supporting the project accounting staff, overseeing and preparing the projects accounting feedback accordance with the Finance and Accounting Manager instruction and MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to provide accurate, reliable and updated financial & accounting information.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting the Finance and Accountancy Manager with delegated tasks to ensure for the proper implementation and follow up of accounting management at projects.
- Controlling and checking the accountancy of the projects and ensuring that all receipts and documentation meet MSF requirements (procedures, deadlines, information, signatures.). Tracking bills/vouchers, invoices and other running costs and analysing & correcting the related information (costs allocations, accounting description, accounting codes, third parties and amounts.) in order to give reliable accounting information.
- Controlling & checking the cash advances and cashbook movements for each petty cash box of projects, check the accounting records all IN and Out transactions, ensuring for the implementation of MSF financial guidelines, accounting procedures & advance granting table.
- Ensuring that accounting team at project level are following the MSF standards for the payments via cash or Bank and for accounting encodings (chart of accounts, quality of documents, guidelines, expense validation procedures, cash security rules, etc.)
- Carrying out delegated accounting tasks and activities for the capital, ensuring confidentiality on all finance issues related to MSF as well as the strict control of all expenditures and the reliability of statements and documentation.
- Regular field visit from projects in order to support, train & coach the accounting team at project level and to fill the gap for accounting team member at project level.
- Ensuring for the implementation of Nigerian tax law at project level.
- Performing any other tasks specific to his/her area of specialty, as defined in his/her job description and according to the line manager.
Education
Preferred:
- Required: A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related Field from an accredited institution.
- A master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or closely related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) are highly preferred.
Experience:
- Preferably 3 years of proven experience in Financial Reporting, forecasting and analysis.
- Excellent analytical, Problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Desirable experience in MSF or other NGOs in developing countries
Languages:
- English Language essential.
