Job Summary
- The Assistant General Manager, Mechanical, will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical engineering operations within Dangote Cement Plc.
- This role includes ensuring the efficient utilization of resources, maintaining regulatory compliance, and optimizing mechanical systems to support the organization’s operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimize mechanical systems and equipment performance.
- Lead the mechanical engineering team for project planning, design, installation, and maintenance of machinery.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards across all mechanical operations.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of machinery and equipment, implementing improvements as necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments to align mechanical operations with organizational objectives.
- Manage budgetary constraints and provide cost-effective solutions for mechanical engineering needs.
- Prepare and present reports on mechanical operations, performance metrics, and project updates to senior management.
- Conduct training and development programs for the mechanical team to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Oversee procurement processes of mechanical parts and ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the senior management team.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical system design and operation.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and environmental standards in engineering operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools.
