We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Purchase Officer

Location: Gujeni, Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate and manage relationships with suppliers for equipments, raw materials, and services; this involves negotiating contracts, securing competitive pricing, and maintaining supplier performance.
  • Work within budgets to secure cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or operational safety.
  • This can involve bulk purchasing, long-term contracts, or alternative supplies.
  • Help track inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages.
  • Manage end-to-end order process, from purchase order creation to tracking and confirming delivery.
  • Coordinating with internal departments, such as finance and operations, to ensure timely approvals and payments.
  • Adher to company policies for procurement and environmental standards; this include understanding safety, environmental, and labor standards that suppliers must follow.
  • Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities.
  • Maintain productive relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent supply, handle disputes, and foster collaboration for long-term benefit. Regularly review supplier performance based on criteria like quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • B.Sc / HND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, Analytical and problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Supply Chain Management/Logistics/Shipping
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g; Excel, MS Office)
  • Understanding of transportation management systems and warehouse management system.
  • Cooperative and eager to contribute to the team’s success.
