Job Title: Central Control Room Operator

Location: Okpella, Edo
Job Schedule: Full-Time
Department: DCP – Operations

Position Overview

  • The Central Control Room Operator plays a critical role in overseeing the operational processes within the cement production facility.
  • This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control production processes from the Central Control Room (CCR) to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Coordinate with Shift Coordinators and communicate necessary information to support the production team effectively.
  • Maintain detailed records of operational data and report any anomalies or issues.
  • Analyze equipment performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support the implementation of approved production plans and targets, ensuring they are met during shifts.
  • Conduct routine checks and adjustments to ensure optimal equipment operation and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and operational staff on process improvements and optimizations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for emergency response and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Provide training and supervision to junior staff and operators as needed.
  • Adhere to environmental management processes and sustainability practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a control room or production environment, preferably in the cement industry.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of production processes and equipment used in cement manufacturing.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and make quick decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using control systems and related technology.
