Job Title: Principal Officer, Packing Plant

Location: Ibese, Ogun
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Description

  • Plan and coordinate all packing plant production and maintenance activities to prevent disruptions to packing plant operations and ensure targets for the plant are met.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and articulation of the plant’s maintenance plan.
  • Manage packing plant shift teams to ensure effective and efficient execution of packing plant activities and achievement of daily production targets.
  • Oversee liaison with the relevant HSE personnel for the provision of personal protection equipment and safety training
  • Assist with reviewing of ATCs for respective shift team and ensure Shift Manager signs off in a timely manner.
  • Assist in supervising the loading of cement into trucks during respective shift.
  • Supervise the operation of packing plant equipment’s during respective shift.
  • Liaise with maintenance engineers for the maintenance of packing plant machine and ensure prompt repairs are carried out when required.
  • Enforce the use of personal protection equipment during respective shift to prevent accidents.
  • Ensure effective on-the-job training of packing plant operators.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head, Packing Plant from time to time.

Requirements

  • BSc. / HND in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent + 6 Yrs Experience
  • Good knowledge of the cement production process
  • In-depth knowledge of the cement packing machines/ functions and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of methods, techniques and procedures involved in maintenance repairs and replacement
  • Strong knowledge of safety practices and techniques in mechanics; and considerable knowledge of parts and supplies required
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment’s with accuracy and speed
  • Good leadership and supervisory skills
  • Good problem solving and analysis skills
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Good relationship management and communication skills.
