Job Title: HTS / KP Officer

Location: Lokoja, Kogi
Grant duration: Subject to availability of funds and exceptional grant performance

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The incumbent will be the state lead for the implementation of program activities in HIV Testing Services (HTS), Safe & Ethical Index Testing Services (IT), HIV Self Testing (HIVST), & Holistic Prevention Services (PrEP, Condoms, Lubricant, Peer-Education, & SBCC) Strong Linkages and referral systems for people living with HIV/AIDS among general & key populations.
  • The job holder will work closely with the HTS/KP, & Prevention lead to ensure appropriate and quality services with the above- mentioned program activities are provided.
  • He/She shall provide overall state leadership for facility and community-based HTS and prevention including status neutral while ensuring collaboration with other technical units to ensure effective teamwork.
  • The incumbent will provide technical support in establishing protocols for HTS, index testing, PrEP and HIVST provision and other prevention services including blood and injection safety that are consistent with national guidelines.
  • He/She will build the capacity of facility personnel to better implement their role in the technical planning, management and evaluation of clinical issues related to HIV prevention program.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Biological Science or a related field; Master’s Degree or equivalent in public health is an added advantages
  • At least 5 years’ post NYSC experience in working on international health issues including HIV/AIDS and sexual Transmission Prevention programs in international or resource poor settings.
  • Knowledge of the policies, regulations, reporting formats, and cultures of principal donors
  • Extensive knowledge in HIV prevention, HTS, and PrEP implementation
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging communit- based organizations and health facility team
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills including the ability to foresee problems and initiate appropriate action
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and make reasoned judgments in a timely fashion.
  • Committing to a course of action without undue delay or prevarication.
