We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Human Resources Officer (Plant)

Location: Gujeni, Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Plant HR will oversee all human resources functions within the plant, including employee relations,performance management, attendanceand compliance with labor laws.
  • This role is crucial in ensuring a positive and productive work environment while supporting the plant’s operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between employees and management, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts.
  • Facilitate employee engagement initiatives and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee the performance appraisal process, ensuring timely and effective evaluations.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions.
  • Implement training programs to support employee development and career growth.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Address employee inquiries related to benefits, attendance, leaves and payroll.
  • Collaborate with safety officers to promote a safe working environment.
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to support decision-making.
  • Monitor and evaluate HR initiatives for effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4years of HR experience, onsite mining experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with HR software and tools.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
