We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Furnace Operator

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Furnace Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of furnaces, ensuring optimal production of high-quality products while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor furnaces, adjusting temperatures, fuel flow, and airflow as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures.
  • Monitor and control temperature, pressure, and gas flow to achieve desired product quality.
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform basic repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with other operators and maintenance personnel to optimize furnace performance.
  • Follow safety protocols and regulations, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of furnace operations, including temperature logs and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in training new operators and sharing knowledge to improve team performance.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in furnace operation or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of furnace operations, thermodynamics, and combustion principles.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities.
  • Physical stamina to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of furnace control systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., mechanical engineering) preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a hot, fast-paced industrial environment with exposure to noise, heat, and hazardous materials.
  • Wear PPE, including heat-resistant suits, gloves, and safety glasses.
  • Rotate shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
