About FOURCi:
Concern on Climate Change for the Community Initiative (FOURCi) is a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the urgent challenges posed by climate change, with a special focus on its impacts within Adamawa State. Our mission is to foster resilient communities through sustainable environmental practices and to be at the forefront of emergency responses linked to climate-induced adversities.

Objectives:

  • To pilot a comprehensive approach that addresses immediate humanitarian needs, promotes sustainable development, and contributes to peacebuilding efforts in conflict-affected areas.
  • To strengthen coordination and collaboration between humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding actors, fostering synergies and maximizing impact.
  • To support the implementation of durable solutions for displaced populations, including return, resettlement, and local integration.

Target Areas:
The pilot project will be implemented in Borno State, focusing on regions affected by protracted conflict and displacement. These areas face significant humanitarian needs, limited access to basic services, and ongoing challenges related to peace and stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate safeguarding capacity building and mobilize project staff, partners, volunteers, and other stakeholders to undergo annual training in Safeguarding through formal and informal refresher sessions, discussion of case studies, quizzes etc.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitation of safeguarding induction for newly recruited project staff, volunteers, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Compile and develop monthly safeguarding training data/activity report with coordination of focal points.
  • Identify and address training needs of staff and stakeholders in humanitarian response in relation to keeping children safe and protecting adults at risk.  
  • Maintain clear records of number of staff, partners, volunteers, contractors, vendors, consultants, and other parties trained on Safeguarding.
  • Support focal points to disseminate safeguarding awareness in the community.
  •  Develop child safe guarding messages for various groups of stakeholders and facilitate publication
  • Conduct supervision and monitoring visits to field locations as required.

Qualifications (Know How)
Educational Training and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Communications, Law, Education or relevant professional qualification 
  • Minimum two (3) years post NYSC experience
  • Good command of English both verbal and written.
  • Good personal and organizational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to coordinate and work with diverse groups of people based in multiple locations.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities that may require overtime or extended hours.
