We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Factory Nurse

Job Summary

  • The factory nurse is responsible for providing medical care and health support to employees in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • This role involves handling workplace injuries and illnesses, promoting health and safety practices, and ensuring compliance with occupational health regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health and Safety: Monitor and maintain a safe working environment by conducting regular health and safety assessments. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and recommend improvements.
  • Medical Care: Provide first aid and emergency medical treatment for workplace injuries and illnesses. Maintain accurate medical records and report incidents as required.
  • Health Education: Educate employees about health, wellness, and safety practices. Conduct workshops or training sessions on topics such as ergonomics, stress management, and hygiene.
  • Occupational Health: Conduct pre-employment health screenings and regular health assessments. Manage and monitor work-related health issues such as exposure to hazardous substances.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and confidential medical records for all employees. Track and report on health trends and incidents.
  • Coordination: Work closely with management and safety officers to develop and implement health and safety policies. Coordinate with external healthcare providers and emergency services when necessary.
  • Employee Support: Offer support and counselling to employees dealing with health-related issues. Provide guidance on return-to-work plans and modifications as needed.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all medical and health practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Stay updated on changes in health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies promptly, including managing and coordinating evacuations if needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Nursing Degree (RN or LPN) and a valid nursing license. Additional certifications in occupational health nursing or first aid may be required or preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or within a manufacturing environment is advantageous. Experience with occupational health and safety regulations is beneficial.
  • Skills: Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to handle high-pressure situations, and proficiency in medical record-keeping.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, empathetic, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Working Conditions

  • The role may require working in various conditions, including exposure to industrial environments, noise, and potentially hazardous materials.
  • The nurse may need to be on-call or work non-standard hours, depending on the factory’s operating schedule.
