Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD) is a registered non-profit organization with the corporate affairs commission, in accordance with the Nigerian Law, FRAD work in both humanitarian and development sector to build the resilience of Vulnerable populations through our interventions in thematic areas of WASH, Nutrition, Protection, Education and early recovery and livelihood. Over the years, FRAD has reached more than 19,000 children, men, women and girls through its various interventions.

FRAD work with the Mission to build the Resilience of vulnerable populations using locally available solutions that ensure participation and bring meaningful development, leaving no one behind. Our Mission and Vision guides our programming to ensure no one is left behind

Job Summary:

Duties and Responsibility

Functions / Day to day activities:

  • Safely transporting organization staff as well as various products and materials to and from specified locations in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with the loading and offloading of staff luggage, products, and materials.
  • Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Provide general logistic  support
  • Check the vehicle prior to its use every morning, fill out the checklist and file it
  • Follow and abide by traffic rules, regulations, driver safety manual and any other instructions given by the supervisor
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Complete the logbook for everyday trips and complete the fuel log sheet for any fuel purchases
  • Ensure that all vehicle journeys are authorized in advance by the Line manager

Requirement:

1. Driver’s License

2. Clean Driving Record

3. Physical fitness to handle the demands of driving

4. Attention to detail for accurate documentation and adherence to schedules.

5. Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.

6. O-Level Certificate

7. Basic Math and English Skills

Desirable skills:

  • Responsibility: Drivers must be reliable and accountable for their actions, especially when handling valuable cargo or transporting passengers.
  • Punctuality: Being punctual is crucial for drivers to meet delivery schedules or pick-up times, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Adaptability: Drivers should be able to adapt to changing road conditions, traffic situations, and unexpected challenges while maintaining composure.
  • Attention to Detail: Paying attention to details such as route instructions, delivery addresses, and vehicle maintenance is essential for safe and successful driving.
  • Patience: Dealing with traffic congestion, delays, and long hours on the road requires patience to remain calm and focused.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with dispatchers, clients, and fellow drivers is important for coordination and problem-solving.
  • Safety Consciousness: Prioritizing safety by following traffic laws, using defensive driving techniques, and maintaining a clean driving record is vital.
  • Physical Stamina: Driving can be physically demanding, so drivers should have the stamina to endure long hours behind the wheel.
