The Nigerian Women’s Trust Fund (WF) was created in 2011 to increase the representation of women in Nigerian governance at all levels and address the growing concerns about the gender imbalance in elective and appointive positions. The goal of the Fund is to institutionalize access to resources for women in politics in Nigeria.

Job Title: Research Consultant (Survey)

About the Role
- As a Research Consultant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our research initiatives by deploying surveys using Google Forms.
- You will work closely with our team to design survey instruments, implement data collection strategies, and ensure the integrity and quality of survey responses.
Specific Tasks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop survey instruments that align with research objectives and data requirements.
- Set up and configure surveys using Google Forms, including customizing question types, logic branching, and response validation.
- Implement strategies to maximize survey response rates and minimize respondent bias.
- Monitor survey responses in real-time, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide support to survey participants as needed.

- Provide support and guidance to survey participants, including clarifying survey instructions and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Conduct data cleaning and preliminary analysis to identify trends and patterns in survey responses.

- Clean and preprocess survey data to prepare it for analysis, including identifying and resolving any inconsistencies or errors.
- Maintain organized documentation of survey data sources, processing methods, and data management protocols.
Deliverables:
- Design and customize survey instruments using Google Forms to align with research objectives and data collection requirements.
- Deploy surveys via Google Forms and manage survey distribution channels to reach target respondents effectively.
- Collect and compile survey responses into a centralized dataset, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of data.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on survey instruments and data collection processes to identify and rectify any potential issues or biases.
- Validate survey data for accuracy and reliability, performing data validation checks and cross-referencing with other sources as necessary.
- Analyze survey data using appropriate statistical methods and analytical techniques to derive meaningful insights and actionable findings.
- Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing survey results, trends, and key takeaways, using data visualization tools to enhance clarity and understanding.
- Provide interpretation and contextualization of survey findings, drawing connections to research objectives and implications for decision-making.
- Document survey methodologies, data collection procedures, and analysis techniques for future reference and replication.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to share insights, best practices, and lessons learned with stakeholders and team members.
- Provide guidance and support in interpreting survey findings and integrating them into broader research efforts or strategic initiatives.
- Solicit feedback from stakeholders and survey participants to evaluate survey effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Incorporate feedback and lessons learned into future survey design and deployment processes to enhance quality and relevance.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the research team, sharing insights and suggestions for optimizing survey methodologies and practices.
- An end of contract report.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Psychology, Market Research, etc.).
Experience:
- Proven experience in survey design, deployment, and data collection, preferably using Google Forms or similar online survey platforms.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Google Forms, Google Sheets, and other relevant software tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Knowledge and/or Nigerian and global development contexts
- Strong research skills and ability to work with partners across the country to generate content.
- Experience in working with an international development organization/NGO/CSO would be beneficial.

- Possess solid political acumen, but not partisan.
Core skills:
- Knowledge of women’s human rights instruments (international and national).
- Strong research, writing, analysis skills in the substantive area
- Knowledge of the 6 April Judgement in favour of Nigerian women on the 35 percent affirmative action.
