About the Role
- The role holder will support Christian Aid’s implementation for Capacity Development in the Youth–In–Work Project in Adamawa State, Nigeria, ensuring Capacity Development activities are effectively planned for, incorporated and functioning optimally across multiple project locations in the humanitarian/development sector.
- The role holder will assist in the conduct of capacity development of participants (training of trainers, business model design and implementation, establishing linkages to additional business development services).
- He/she will foster strong, collaborative relationships with partner institutions and additional business development service providers. Other roles will include overseeing the implementation of training and provision of additional business development services to MSMEs and ensuring all activities are planned and delivered according to CAID standards, providing effective and timely support to agribusiness entrepreneurs, and enabling them to carry out and upscale their businesses as the opportunity is available.
- The role holder will be representing CAID in sector working group meetings/activities as the need arises, and engage in the right networks while increasing the profile of CAID Humanitarian and resilience work and its visibility in the region.
About You
- The role holder should have a relevant University Degree in a subject related to the project, with at least 3-5-years’ professional experience leading, developing, or facilitating training/Capacity Development, coaching, and mentoring sessions for international organizations operating in humanitarian/development contexts, work experience in instructional design (assessing training needs, writing training/learning objectives, designing training, evaluating training, assessing participant learning, strong positive attitude and ability to manage a wide range of issues of complicated procedures, indicated by 4-5 years learning period, subject Matter Specialist in Training/Capacity Building, experience with peer-to-peer learning and self-assessment, strong analytical and writing skills, working knowledge of English.
- She/he has at least 3 years of humanitarian/development response experience in Capacity Development programming, is familiar with Capacity Development needs and delivery methodology and processes in Northeast Nigeria, experience in engaging directly with agribusiness entrepreneurs, facilitating women’s activities and/or facilitating equal participation in meetings, discussions, etc, ability to communicate fluently English language and the local language (preferably Hausa).
