Job description

Capacity for Nutrition – National Information Platforms for Nutrition (C4N-NIPN) is one of three components of the ‘Knowledge for Nutrition (K4N)’ programme and supports the European Commission (EC), its partners as well as the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with competence and knowledge to strengthen nutrition-related programmes. Launched in 2015, NIPN is an EC initiative, (NIPN – National Information Platforms for Nutrition (nipn-nutrition-platforms.org), which works closely with platforms in eight countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America for better nutrition information systems and improve data analysis for better-informed strategic decisions. Communications has an important role to share learnings between the partners and with a broader array of stakeholders globally.

Your tasks

During your internship you will have the following tasks, among others:

  • Support communication activities with drafting, editing, and publishing text for the NIPN website
  • Support general NIPN website maintenance, adding and archiving content, and editing of web pages
  • Support with the maintenance and update of the project’s social media accounts (i.e., Twitter/X) and possible development and upkeep of a LinkedIn page
  • Support with production of public information and awareness-raising material as well as editing and proof reading of other publications
  • Assist the administration staff in the compilation of electronic mass communications
  • Support of translations in French and/or Spanish for publications as well as internal and external communications
  • Support the preparation and documentation of meetings, conferences, webinars and workshops as well as archiving related documentation
  • Provide logistics and technical support where needed

Your profile

  • You study at least after the fourth semester in Development Studies, Nutrition, Public Health, Agriculture, Communications or related fields
  • Keen interest to work in international development cooperation; experience in journalism, public relations and/or event management would be an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office tools: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote
  • Proven experience with website content management and monitoring systems, ideally SPIP or other PHP script programmes / WordPress / Matomo / Piwik
  • Experience with graphic design and editing tools (i.e., preferably Adobe Illustrator, but also Canva / InDesign, Microsoft Photo) would be an advantage
  • Experience with other communications technology (video conference calls, webinar and newsletter platforms) would be an advantage
  • Excellent skills in writing and reporting in English and French; good Spanish and/or German language skills are an asset
  • Commitment and enthusiasm and interpersonal and intercultural competencies

We pay a monthly stipend of € 1.350,- (gross). Please note that the contract will be concluded under Belgian law.
