Job Title: Manager, Business Development

Reports to: Head of Business Development
Unit Objective
- The Business Development team is responsible for the generation of revenue for the DAI-N office.
- The unit ensures the organisation wins businesses across various market segments – donor organisations, government and foundation.
- Also, the unit works closely with other business development teams in the global offices to win bids in Nigeria.
Role Objective
- To contribute to the strategic growth of DAI by working with the BD team members (local and global) to win work in Nigeria across various clients.
Job Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with DAI’s business units – USG, HMG, EU and other technical teams – to win opportunities based in Nigeria by facilitating recons (field and secondary research), incubators and writing proposal sections.
- Lead and manage local proposal development across multiple clients – donors organisations, government, foundation and the private sector.
- Maintain high level relationship with clients and potential clients across the market segment – donor organisations, government and foundation.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of local business development strategies
- Identification and engagement of local and international strategic partners
- Facilitate the expansion and diversification of DAI-N business.
- Identify business opportunities for DAI-N to expand its services across the identified market segments.
- Facilitates and works closely with the pricing team (finance team) in the financial proposal development.
- Provide support to local projects in proven areas of expertise.
- Other duties as specified by the Head of BD and other assigned authorities.
Qualifications and Person Specification
- Master’s Degrees with 5 – 7 years’ experience in the international development sector.
- Experience developing/ managing proposals for various clients including USAID, FCDO, EU, BMGF and others.
- Good relationship in the development sector covering donors and implementers.
- Broad knowledge of international development market trends
- Interest/ limited experience in investment banking will be a plus.
- Strong collaboration and networking skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
