Context:
Under the overall supervision of theHead of Sub-Office (HoSO) in Cotabato and direct supervision of the National Migration Health Programme Coordinator and in collaboration with the Migration Project Health Assistant (Liaison), the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for supporting the fulfilment of IOM’s health programming in Mindanao, especially in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The successful candidate will support in coordination and liaison especially with the stakeholders in health and development sector, including the Ministry of Health (MOH) – BARMM and its local constituents, and in administrations needed implementing projects and activities.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Assist the preparation and coordination of health-related activities in alignment with the agreed purpose, scope and workplan, ensuring proper and regular communications with stakeholders in health and development sector in Mindanao.
2. Assist in facilitating effective inter-/intra unit communication through the documentation and dissemination of information and updates, ensuring availability of a platform for timely feedback.
3. Organize and schedule meetings, trainings, and relevant activities, including through drafting letters of support / request to partners, preparing agendas and minutes, and following up on agreed action points.
4. Organize and maintain project documents and reports including through e-filing or updating of database, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.
5. Contribute to obtaining technical information from stakeholders and partners needed for the implementation and development of IOM’s health programming in Mindanao.
6. Perform various administrative and clerical tasks such as preparing necessary travel and procurement requisitions, documents, materials and resources for smooth execution of planned activities.
7. Assist in monitoring, tracking, and coordination of resources, implementation and procurement plan, and provide necessary updates to the National Migration Health Programme Coordinator and the Unit members.
8. Support in maintaining the inventory of Migration Health Unit supplies, equipment, and materials.
9. Undertake duty travels in support of the programme and perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, social science, education, management, community development, health administration, or a related field with 3 years of relevant professional experience; or
- High School degree with five years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience in administrative and clerical management related to public health activities.
- Experience in the public health and/or health sciences sectors is an advantage.
- Experience in humanitarian or development operations and/or Government Social or Health Services; and
- Experience in liaising with government counterparts, including those in BARMM Ministries.
Skills
- Excellent communication and writing skills with strong computer literacy, especially advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Offices.
- Strong familiarity with the context of BARMM and surrounding areas, knowledge of the issues and programs related to Family Planning at the National and Local (Mindanao) level is highly desirable.
Languages
- For this position, fluency in English and Filipino is required and working knowledge in any BARMM language is desirable.
