Job Description

  • The KP/HTS Intern liaises with the State KP/HTS Team and designated OSS and facility Linkage and Retention Coordinators to support case finding and linkage of KPs and priority population in all SPEED-supported community and facility testing sites.
  • The incumbent will support the implementation of community-based HIV service delivery and the supportive supervision of the OSS & CBO’s for KPs (FSW, MSM, TWG, and PWIDs).
  • The incumbent will support in the implementation of prevention, risk reduction and adherence treatment services for Key Population, assist in managing persons responsible for identifying and working with Key Population groups to carry out outreaches and work closely with the KP/HTS state technical team to ensure access to HTS.
  • The intern will ensure behavioural maintenance activities are implemented among the KP groups with responsibility for appropriate implementation of program activities in HIV prevention for key and vulnerable populations.
  • Liaise with all testing points within the facility to ensure all clients testing positive newly are linked to treatment – 100% linkage.
  • Distribute HIV self-testing kits through assisted and unassisted channels and ensure reactive clients are tested at ECEWS supported facilities using the national testing algorithm.
  • Refers clients yet to be linked to lay counselors and/or community health workers for follow-up tracing.
  • Ensures tracking processes and outcome is recorded in the contact tracking and termination form and register.
  • Ensure complete documentation of HTS and IT source documents, share daily/Weekly/Monthly report with the ECEWS backstops and on other platforms provided for routine reporting.
  • Support the documentation of innovations, success stories, milestones, best practices, and lessons learnt in implementation of interventions.
  • The incumbent will establish and strengthen mechanisms for routine tracking and assessment of project outcomes at all supported entities in the state.
  • S/he will support the KP/HTS Team/OSS clinicians in the management of daily operations of the One Stop Shop.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • HND or bachelor’s degree in social sciences, and Health Sciences required.
  • At least 2 years’ working in OSS/ or CBOs in HIV interventions for key and vulnerable populations.
  • Experience building capacity at individual and organizational levels.
  • Skilled in at least two or more of the following technical areas: strengthening service delivery programs, performance and quality improvement, psychosocial support, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Experience working with CSO/CBOs and comfortable working with Key Populations.
  • History of loyalty and trust with proven integrity
  • Undergone HIV/AIDS related Trainings: e.g. Peer Education, HTS Quality Management or
  • Behavior Change Communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to build partnerships and consensus, within teams and with other stakeholders.
  • Ability to be self-directed and self-motivated and a team player.
  • Proficiency level computer skills – spreadsheet, internet, word processing, and email software.
