SUMMARY OF DUTIES OF THE POSITION

The O3 Programme seeks to respond to the main challenges faced by the countries of’Sub-Saharan Africa and promotes a sub-Saharan Africa where positive health outcomes, d’education and’equality of the sexes are a reality for adolescents. L’UNESCO, through the O3 Programme, will collaborate with various countries of’Africa sub-Saharan, including the Ivory Coast, to expand and consolidate’ access of youth and adolescents to Health and Healthy Living Education (SHEA) and Sexual and Reproductive Health services and environments d’healthy, safe and inclusive learning.
The O3 Programme aims to :
1. Support a supportive policy and institutional environment for the implementation of school health programmes that include ESVS and the prevention of school violence ;
2. Helping countries to intensify and strengthen the delivery of accurate, rights-based education and learning’, transformers of gender and good quality on the’ESC and the prevention of school violence. ;
3. Empower AJs and respect their right to make decisions and drive change in their lives and communities using digital innovations. ;
4. Promote the creation of safer and more inclusive school and community environments with links to accessible and youth-friendly SRH services ;
5. Strengthen the implementation of the program thanks to the evidence generated by monitoring, evaluation, research and learning.
Implemented at the UNESCO Abidjan Office since 2018, the O3 program contributes in Côte d’Ivoire to an improvement in Education for Health and Health ( ESVS ) and responses to Gender Violence in School ( VGMS ). To this end, numerous activities are carried out with Ivorian institutions, teachers, pedagogical supervisors and communities, in order to be able to achieve the objectives of the O3 program in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Cote d’Ivoire organises the’Africa Cup of Nations (CAN). The’organization of this CAN, is an occasion of all the attentions and of’ important mobilization of all the social classes because of the continental scope of the’event and the massive arrival of foreign delegations.
The risks related to the collateral effects of’ such a large gathering event are quite perceptible for youth including deviances,’use of narcotics, risky behaviors and sexuality, etc, sources of unwanted early pregnancies, the spread of HIV, STIs, among others; all of which would destroy significant investments in health, well-being and the future of young people.
In this context, it will aim to strengthen the resilience of young people and football fans to threats.

Also the consultant will be responsible for (i) Designing modules and messages of popularization of’ESVS, (ii) strengthening the capacities of the stakeholders targeted by’UNESCO (DJ, bloggers, etc, members of the restaurant platform) ; (iii) d’ to monitor the awareness raised by the various actors.

BGENERAL OBJECTIVE
To ensure the dissemination of awareness messages on’ESVS through media campaigns and in Fan ZONES/Villages Can

B.1 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
– Design modules and messages for popularizing’ESVS with communities ;
– Organize training for Disc-jockeys (Dj), Bloggers and members of the restaurant platform on’ESVS and Hello Ado ;
– Carry out a follow-up during the various sensitizations in the Can Villages during and after.

B.2 EXPECTED RESULTS

o Modules and messages for the popularization of’ESVS to the communities are designed ;
o Training sessions for Disc-jockeys (Dj), Bloggers and members of the restaurant platform on’ESVS and Hello Ado are organized ;
o A follow-up of the various sensitizations in the Can Villages is carried out during and after the CAN.

To this end, the’ authority of the Head of Office and Resident Representative of’UNESCO, under the supervision of the’ administrator of the Education Programme and under the responsibility of the Coordinator of the O3 Programme, is, to which the contractor (e) will relate for all matters relating to his mission, the/consultant(e) will have to perform the following tasks.

C.TACHES TO BE DONE
The contractor ;
– Propose a detailed work agenda ;
-Propose two modules life skills and knowledge of the body and messages on the’ESVS ;
– Organize training sessions for the benefit of DJs, bloggers, members of the restaurant platform, etc, ngos and’ all the actors targeted by’UNESCO for awareness raising during the CAN ;
– Will carry out a follow-up of the actions of mobilization of the’ESVS within the framework of the CAN.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education

Bachelor in Social Sciences or Other Related Field

Experience

Minimum 5 ( five ) years of professional experience in the field of expertise of the position

Skills

Good knowledge of Complete Sexuality Education ( ECS )

Ability to supervise teams

Ability to exchange with multisectoral teams

Languages

Excellent mastery of French ( written, read and spoken )

Good knowledge of English ( written, read and spoken )
